l took the opportunity to showcase a non-linear approach to diversified sounds, which constructs a complex aesthetic paired with emotional imagery. I wasn't focused on a perfect flow of mixing because I love sounds...and those sounds don't always have to be 'music.' I love ambient music, dramatic pauses, and music that holds different nuances. I love to play sounds that are introspective, crossing the lines of danceable and non-danceable. The majority of the time, I'm not listening to dance music. I'm a DJ's DJ... so l'm trying to tell a sonic story. I'm drawn to the intricacies of life, as that is where growth and learning happen, but also finding a balance in simplicity and routine. Without either, life would be bland. So, for me, seeking out dynamic and experimental, yet authentic and simple, is key for my well-being as a track selector. The weirder, the better.
