"On International Women's Day I heard a scary statistic: only 5% of music producers are female. For this playlist I’ve decided to highlight some of my favourite, under-represented womxn producers. Each of these artists have really inspired my own production in different ways. The playlist is groovy yet minimal; I tried to select tracks that embodied the gentle nature of a woman’s touch. There’s also some beautiful poetry within these tracks, each telling a different story of womanhood, from Stella Donnelly’s hauntingly sweet ‘Boy’s Will be Boys’ to Cooly G’s broken-beat serenade ‘Like a Woman Should’. I’m proud to support and showcase each of these incredible producers; an ethnically and demographically diverse crowd bound together by the wonderful World Wide Web.
