The 10 best songs of the 2010s (by Zoe Muth)

by Duncan Cooper
Across three releases in the front half of the 2010s, Zoe Muth honed a modest, open style of country and folk-rock that, for my dollar, cements her as the most skillful and affecting singer-songwriter of the decade. Better-known names in the space might have achieved poppier highs (Kacey Musgraves) or pushed the bounds of genre and industry more aggressively (Sturgill Simpson). But nobody's stories break your heart — and so casually dead-on — as Muth. An all-time great.
