Dearest Listener,

This month's episode was recorded in Brooklyn NY after travel to Bejuco, Costa Rica and Houston, Texas. Being closer to the equator made summer feel closer than it is, but still, at least this is the first DL episode I’m dropping with no snow on the ground.

The winter to spring sound is in full effect on this one. The show starts off with new music from Ego Ella May, Ragz Originalle, Nubian Twist and Modha.  With each releasing a new album for 2026, I love how the music from each artist sounds open yet danceable. I don’t always give enough credit to how much jazz has shaped my ear, but certain rhythms and pockets in electronic music always bring me back to it. I felt that especially in the opening stretch, and again playing Moonlight from Shy One & Kawnini by Ewa Williams. 

I have a few gigs coming up, so you can hear me getting back in the mood to DJ outside again in the later part of the episode. I took a detour into what I had planned and decided to mix a few vinyls I picked up on my travels. Not a lot of people know, but I’ve been really into vinyl for the past year or so. It felt really rewarding to give the disks I’ve been collecting some airtime, mixing them live and having a nice dance in the sunlight of my living room.
