Happy New Year because it ain't too late to say that.

We hope 2022's treating you well already and if it's not, we're sure it will soon. If you made a resolution this year to treat your eardrums better, our Music of the Month selections should be a monthly stop-off for you from now until December, where we'll be collating all of our favourite underground music - that you can buy - in one place.

On our BuyMusic.Club list this month we've got hip-hop from the world over, vinyl releases for two of our favourite jazz releases of last year, and a whole lot more.

Our Pick of the Month comes from Brooklyn and Stas Thee Boss, as the experimental rapper dropped a 3-track EP in December that you might have missed amongst all the Christmas Carols and whatnot. Stas has been active for a decade now, first releasing in 2012 as part of the duo THEESatisfaction. Then known for soulful RnB, that influence comes across in the beat selection as Stas has fun over a trio of three chilled instrumentals.

Elsewhere, you'll notice an older release from Knxwledge. The legendary producer, sample flipping and remixing king announced this month that his iconic series of Meek Mill cuts will soon be removed by the Philly rapper's lawyers. A darn shame. So we're encouraging you to snap that up before it disappears.

And if you're into Knxwledge, we've got to recommend dylantheinfamous' latest tape. The prolific Brummy artist has turned over drill and grime tracks into his unmistakable, crunchy hip-hop style, and the results are as good as the ones Stevie G's getting out of Aston Villa at the minute.

Staying on our own shores, we're excited about the prospect of getting cktrl's beautifully layered Zero EP on wax, as well as the unstoppable Emma Jean Thackray's Yellow. There's also an exciting reissue, yet more Habibi Funk and some Māori rap for you to delve into on the full listing, as well as that new Earl for good measure.
