Ok, we're back after a little break and even though this weeks seems like a quiet one, there are still some incredible highlights being unleashed on our eardrums (and feet). The BIG one is De Schuurman's long-awaited follow up album, delivering more of his hi-octane Bubbling sound, a genre he helped to define like few others. A bit more abstract is Indonesia's Uwalmassa, teaming up with hurdy-gurdy player Yann Gourdon for a record somewhere between psychedelic folk and clicks and cuts electronica reminiscent of the early 2000s golden era of that sound. A few highlights for the bass junkies and hardened ravers here as well this week: Super Sonic Booty Bangers have a steallar EP full of new school jungle by Bruk ready for the rave and 96 Back and Marty Bootysppon bring some very thicc bass to the table via the classic AUS Music imprint. Deep and psychedelic techno by Metapattern, resonating very well with a new offering by Metrist and, in case you need to kick it back a little, some dub techno on the dubstep side of things by Sub Basics, who you probably should know by now. If all of this is too timid for you, Tehran's Sote has a rhythmically and sonically complex tribute to Iannis Xenakis to contort your synapses or, not as complex but equally exciting, Syrte returns with some analog and Rephlex sounding IDM. On top of all that we have some classic dubstep by Kromestar, a hype collab EP by 160 titans A. Fruit and Itoa, a throwback to the glorious days of post-dubstep by Reef affiliated SPE:C label and breakcore by Laskfar Vortok on the always reliable Evar Recordings.
