Lawrence English's Room40 has existed for 20 glorious years - two decades of sharing engaging exploratory music with the world as both a label curator and as a promoter. 

On a personal level, in that time Lawrence has been a friend, mentor, critical set of ears, supporter and inspiration to me; as well as releasing albums of mine and providing me with some amazing performance opportunities. 

Narrowing this 20 for 20 list was really hard! My shortlist was about 40 releases, so there's enough favourites for a second round. I haven't overly ordered the list above as different editions have meant different things to me over time - but it's worth having a deep dive.
