Format Wars is an online record store and creative platform based in Berlin. Its catalogue traces the outer currents of electronic music: jungle pulled into dreamlike atmospheres, techno stretched until it unravels, ambient fractured into shards, jazz refracted through echo and delay, and schools of abstraction that resist definition.

Founded in 2019 by Flo Viadana aka BLUME, Format Wars began as a modest shopfront and gradually evolved into a collective presence. Today it surfaces not only through physical formats — records, CDs, and tapes — but also through gatherings that unfold as pop-ups and events, creating temporary sites for listening and exchange.

The platform also extends into the digital realm with curated mixes, playlists, and commissioned features, inviting artists to inscribe their own sonic maps into its shifting archive. In every form, Format Wars moves restlessly at the edge, seeking new ways to listen, collect, and connect.
